Biography

Janet Gray is a shareholder in the Bellevue firm of JGS, where she specializes in the areas of estate planning, probate, taxation and charitable giving.

As a member of the Washington State Bar Association for over 36 years, Janet Gray exclusively represents clients in the areas of estate planning and probate administration. Janet works with her clients to find innovative solutions to reduce their estate and gift tax liability, while taking into consideration the clients' personal wishes, family needs and philanthropic goals. Janet received her bachelor's degree from Wellesley College (magna cum laude), her law degree from Willamette Law School (Managing Editor, Law Review) and her LL.M (Taxation) from New York University Law School.

A frequent speaker at the Washington State Bar's annual Estate Planning Seminar, she is a past Executive Committee Member of the Bar's Real Property, Probate and Trust Section, and a long time member of the Taxation Committee. In addition to serving as Chair of the Jewish Community Endowment Fund, she is a founding member of the Federation's Women's Endowment Foundation and serves on the boards of several family foundations.

Janet is currently the chair of Shadhika, a U.S. based non-profit that funds NGOs throughout India which support at risk young women and children, with the goal of ending human trafficking, child marriage and forced labor.
